Trout fishing went off again, with rainbows up to 6 pounds weighed in at the marina. Trolling leadcore down to 7 or 8 colors with dodger/nightcrawler combos in the morning, and drifting worms the rest of the day around the dam was the ticket. Bass fishing has been decent with topwaters early, crankbaits, dropshot and jigs working later. Fish are scattered from 2 to 20 feet in the water column. Catfish were still coming in on cut mackerel and doughbaits in most coves in the lake. Crappie action was fair in the narrows and Cachuma Bay on mini-jigs and mealworms. Bowfishing also good in the early morning, in front of Clark Canyon and along the buoys at the dam. Bluegill has been on the slow side, but some better fish being caught on redworms and gulp maggots.
