Twenty local artists and 10 olive pickers traversed the Santa Inés Historic Mills on a crisp, bright Dec. 8 morning for Pick & Paint.

The third time proved to be the charm for the event, which had been postponed two previous Saturdays due to rain.

Wayne Sherman, park steward for the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation, joined participants among the olive trees, while painters – down the trail and up the creek – enjoyed the view from the Mission Mills (adjacent to Old Mission Santa Inés).

The fall 2013 Elverhřj art exhibition, based on the Mission Mills complex, will include a call for entries with a monetary award and more chances for artists to work on site.
