Trout fishing was hit or miss, as some anglers sacked and others came up empty. Shore anglers reported that inflated crawlers and powerbait was working on the marina point, E point and the Mohawk pier. Trollers, flat-lining firetiger Kastmasters and Rapalas did fair in Cachuma Bay and around the dam. The bass bite was slow at best, and the handful of bass that were caught came on nightcrawlers. Catfish continue to be one of the best options at the moment, and areas such as Storke flats and Johnsons Bay are holding good numbers of kitties to 6 pounds. Boswfishing was decent as well, and with a little work it would be possible for a good outing. Crappie and red-ear were no-shows. There will be a 4,000-pound plant from the Calaveras Trout Farm on Thursday, Dec. 13.
