Tourism bureau rolls out guide, videos
By SYVJ Staff
A co-operative publication of the Solvang Conference & Visitors Bureau and Visit the Santa Ynez Valley destination marketing organizations, the official 2013 Solvang and the Santa Ynez Valley Visitors Guide is a new 56-page, full-color free publication encompassing the communities of Ballard, Buellton, Los Alamos, Los Olivos, Santa Ynez and Solvang.
The book is published by Custom Media Group of Santa Barbara, specializing in communication for the tourism industry and publishes the award-winning quarterly magazine Santa Barbara Seasons. The public was invited to attend a “Launch Party” slated for Dec. 12 at the Hotel Corque in Solvang.
The videos were funded by a special marketing grant from the Santa Ynez Valley Hotel Association and produced in partnership by Bottle Branding.
The 2013 guide is filled with color photographs featuring attractions, architecture, vineyards and historic sites, as well as a “Resource” section that feature attractions, farm stands, wedding and event venues, dining, shopping and lodging.
A newly re-designed fold-out 2-page map includes hotels, points of interest and wine and beer tasting rooms open to the public throughout the Valley. There is also a revised downtown Solvang map featuring key attractions in the village as well as the Heritage Walk.
Solvang CVB executive director Tracy Farhad remarked, “This is our eighth year of this collaboration, and we are thrilled to debut our joint 2013 Visitors Guide as well as these incredible videos. Be one of the first to see these impressive marketing tools designed to entice the visitor to our area and stay longer.”
The Solvang Conference & Visitors Bureau, founded by the City of Solvang in 1986, promotes the European culture, cuisine, arts and attractions of the village known as “California’s Little Denmark.”
The guide is available in hard copy (80,000 printed) as well as online for free viewing and download at www.VisitTheSantaYnezValley.com or www.SolvangUSA.com. The publication is used to fulfill requests received through website inquiries, toll-free numbers or responses to advertising. Guides are also distributed to media from around the world; at consumer and travel-trade shows and locally in hotels, businesses and visitor centers, as well as California Welcome Centers. To receive a free copy by mail, call toll-free: 1-800-468-6765. To receive a copy in person, stop by the downtown Solvang Visitor Center located at 1639 Copenhagen Drive (open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily).
