For the 8th year in a row, Solvang will once again host our annual Greyhound Festival. Greyhounds and their owners will descend upon the quiet town to show their love and support for Greyhounds, to enjoy the company of others who share the same compassion and to show others how wonderful Greyhounds as pets can be. After all, it is the Greyhounds that bring us together. The most popular event is The Solvang Streak (held Saturday). It’s a “fun run” for the hounds to have fun and show off how fast they can be down a fenced in straight run. Volunteers “man” both ends of the run – one end for release and the other end to catch. Proceeds raised from the Solvang Greyhound Fest will go to benefit GREYT LEGS - a 501c3 non-profit support group to aid various adoption groups with grants to assist Greyhounds with broken-leg veterinarian bills. Feel free to browse the website at and come join us February 24, 25, and 26, 2012 in Solvang! It’s going to be an experience you will never forget but more importantly, it’s all about the Greyhounds.
