Classes of 2007!
They Made it!
“If you can imagine it, you can achieve it; if you can dream it, you can become it,” said William Arthur Ward to the Santa Ynez Valley Union High School’s the class of 2007, who graduated Friday, June 15 at the SYVUHS Athletic Stadium. The ceremony started out with the school band performing “Pomp and Circumstance.”
They
then, along with the audience, honored the flag with their performance of the
“Star Spangled Banner.”
The final song was performed by soloist, Matt Smitley
and Julian Bandura. Also present was the Vandenberg
Honor Guard with their presentation of Colors. The four commencement speakers
gave heart warming speeches that left the audience in awe. They were Rebecca Calleja, Miles Freeman, Ryan Simpson and Elizabeth Truax. Afterwards, the students’ names were called
and they were presented with their diplomas, followed by the changing of the
tassels and throwing of the caps as families and friends were cheering in the
audience for their loved ones.
The
Graduation ended with the school band performing their alma mater. This
years’ class size was 265 at Santa Ynez Valley Union High Schools’

As
Santa Ynez Valley Union High Schools proudly sees 265 graduates off this year,
they will be preparing to welcome the eighth grade graduates of the Valley into
their first year of High School this fall.
