3687 Sagunto St., Santa Ynez (Maverick Saloon)
A 30-year-old male from Los Olivos, Calif. was arrested for public intoxication after a Maverick employee allegedly observed the man under the influence of alcohol. It appeared that the man had fallen down and hit his head while trying to urinate. Police determined he was unable to care for himself and transported him to the Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital, then to the Santa Barbara County Jail.

500th Block of Pine Street, Solvang
A 23-year-old male from Solvang Calif. was cited for failing to have a California Driver’s License while operating a vehicle. The driver was given a notice to appear at the Santa Maria Superior Court.

Highway 154 near East Highway 246, Santa Ynez
A 31-year-old female from Santa Ynez Calif. was arrested for alleged driving under the influence of alcohol after police responded to a tailgating report near the San Marcos Golf Course. The driver was taken to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department.

633 Chalk Hill Rd., Solvang (Solvang Skate Park)
A 34-year-old female from Solvang Calif. reported her 12-year-old son’s skateboard stolen. Police have no suspects and an incident report was taken.

Highway 154 at Foxen Canyon Road, Los Olivos
Police responded to a report of a dispute between two subjects in a ‘70s Chevy van. Moments later, police stopped the van in the area to check if the occupants were okay. The 44-year-old male driver from Santa Maria was cited after police discovered that his driver’s license was suspended for a previous DUI.

3400 East Highway 246, Santa Ynez (Chumash Casino)
A 26-year-old male from Santa Maria Calif. was placed under citizen’s arrest for trespassing after violating his permanent ban from the Chumash Casino. The man was banned from the casino in 2002 for alleged theft and admitted to visiting the casino about 12 times before being noticed by security. He was taken to the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department, cited and released.

1500 Block of Copenhagen Drive, Solvang
Two 24-year-old males from Lompoc Calif. were arrested for allegedly being in possession of methamphetamine and transporting a controlled substance for sales. The two suspects were arrested after police pulled over their vehicle for speeding. The suspects appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance. A search of the vehicle revealed a plastic bag containing approximately 7.5 grams of methamphetamine. Both suspects were taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail. Their vehicle was impounded.

2600 Block of Highway 154, Santa Barbara
A woman from Fontana, Calif. reported losing her cell phone at Cachuma Lake. The phone is described as a silver Motorola Q. The service provider is Verizon and the estimated value of the phone is $200.

3400 East Highway 246, Santa Ynez (Chumash Casino)
A 32-year-old male and a 40-year-old female from Oxnard Calif. were arrested for allegedly stealing a $515 purse and $15 cash from another casino patron. Casino security caught the suspicious activity on tape. Both suspects were taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail and bail was set at $20,000.

Mission Street and Fifth Street, Solvang
A 27-year-old female from Lompoc Calif. was cited after police noticed a broken tail-light on her red Hyundai Elantra Station Wagon. After police ran her driver’s license they discovered that her registration was expired. She was allegedly displaying a false registration tab and was unable to provide proof of insurance.

3600 Block of Pine Street, Santa Ynez
An 18-year-old male from Santa Ynez Calif. was cited for unreasonable noise and possession of marijuana paraphernalia after police responded to a report of a party. Upon making entry, police found a large, red plastic water bong. Two male minors who were at the party admitted to drinking alcohol. All of the minor’s parents were called and picked up their children.

Highway 246 at Highway 154, Santa Ynez
Police arrested a 28-year-old male from Oxnard Calif. for allegedly possessing methamphetamine and cocaine. Police also found credit cards that were reported stolen in March of 2007. The suspect was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail and his vehicle was impounded.

2975 East highway 246, Santa Ynez (Santa Ynez Valley
Union High School)
A 48-year-old male from Santa Ynez Calif. reported that unknown suspect(s) used black spray paint to write graffiti at various locations on the Santa Ynez Valley Union High School campus. The graffiti is thought to be gang related. A report was taken and the case was suspended. Pending leads.

3200th Block of Samantha Drive, Santa Ynez
A 42-year-old female reported being struck by her 71-year-old mother. The victim accused her mother of grabbing her and causing an injury. The 42-year-old victim did not want her mother to be cited for battery. No arrests were made. The case was submitted to the DA for a complaint review.
