Warrant Arrest

3400 E. Hwy. 246, Santa Ynez (Chumash Casino)

Police arrested a 53-year-old female from Nipomo, Calif. for having an outstanding warrant for her arrest. The arrest was a result of a field contact near the casino. She was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail and bail was set at $15,000.

Helicopter Crash

5200 Block of Figueroa Mountain Road, Los Olivos

Police responded to a helicopter crash that was related to the ongoing Zaca Fire burning near Los Olivos, Calif. The pilot and co-pilot were taken to the Santa Ynez Valley Hospital where they were treated for their injuries. There were no fatalities. The cause is still under investigation.

3400 E. Hwy. 246, Santa Ynez (Chumash Casino)

Police arrested a 43-year-old male from Camarillo, Calif. for allegedly being under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of cocaine, after he broke a table at the casino, the suspect refused to cooperate with police and demanded a lawyer. He was transported to Santa Barbara County Jail.

 

Arrest

3400 E. Hwy. 246, Santa Ynez (Chumash Casino)

A 46-year-old male from Santa Maria, Calif. was arrested for allegedly being under the influence of methamphetamine, after a casino surveillance camera operator observed him snorting a controlled substance in his car. The suspect tested positive for methamphetamine and was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail.

Citizens Arrest

3400 E. Hwy. 246, Santa Ynez (Chumash Casino)

A 27-year-old male from Santa Maria, Calif. was arrested for allegedly trespassing at the casino after he had been banned for vandalizing a video-gaming machine. During a consented search, police found a counterfeit Social Security card, which the suspect admitted he had purchased for $25 to be used for means of employment. He was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail and charged with trespassing, providing false information to a police officer, and possession of a false government seal.

Mission Drive at Alamo Pintado, Solvang

A 28-year-old female from Van Nuys, Calif. was given a notice to appear in court after police pulled her over for operating a vehicle without a license plate. The driver was unable to provide a valid California Driver’s License or valid registration. The driver’s Toyota was impounded.

Petty Theft

616 Alamo Pintado Road, Solvang (Rite-Aid)

A 51-year-old male from Santa Maria, Calif. reported that unknown male and female suspects stole one bottle of Patron Tequila and fled the scene. No arrests were made. Case was suspended pending leads.

Arrest

Mission Drive at Fourth Street, Solvang

A 29-year-old male from West Covina, Calif. was arrested for public intoxication after he had been observed approaching the intersection of Atterdag Road and yelling at passing cars. After contact, the suspect became verbally abusive towards police. The suspect was taken to the Santa Maria Jail.

Vandalism

 8900th Block of Alisos Canyon., Los Alamos

A 23-year-old male from Santa Barbara, Calif. reported that a 31-year-old male from Lompoc, Calif. allegedly vandalized a free-style motorcycle ramp beyond repair. A report was taken and the case is pending statements.

1500 Block of Copenhagen Drive, Solvang

A 43-year-old male from Santa Barbara, Calif. was arrested for allegedly driving on a suspended license after police responded to a report of the suspect driving with a suspended license. The suspect was taken to the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department.

1700 Block of Mission Drive, Solvang

A 40-year-old male from Solvang, Calif. was issued a warning for a broken headlight as a result of a routine traffic stop. The driver was unable to provide proof of current insurance and was given a notice to appear in court to provide proof of insurance.
