Street, Solvang
A 63-year-old male from Santa Barbara, Calif. was issued a citation for displaying false
registration tags on his older model red Toyota Corolla. After police ran a
check, it was revealed that the registration had been expired since 2005. The
driver admitted to intentionally placing the faulty registration tab on the
vehicle for the past three years. The driver went on to admit that he didn’t
want to pay registration for a car he rarely used. The vehicle was impounded.
The driver was given a notice to appear in court.

Burglary
565 Atterdag Rd. #13, Solvang
(Solvang School Upper
Campus)
A 57-year-old male from Lompoc, Calif. reported that an unknown suspect(s) entered room 13
of the Solvang School Upper Campus and stole eight laptop computers from a
storage bin. It is unknown how the suspects gained access to the room. Digital
photographs of the suspects were taken on the campus and finger prints were
collected from the storage bin that contained the laptops. The case was
recommended for a detective follow-up.

Arrest
Alisal Road at Molle Way, Solvang
A 36-year-old male from Phoenix, Arizona was arrested for public intoxication after he was
reported for yelling at his sister in the street. When police contacted the
suspect, he was allegedly argumentative and continued yelling at his sister.
The suspect later admitted to drinking five alcoholic beverages. He was taken
to Santa Barbara County Jail.

Police arrested a 14-year-old male and a 15-year-old male, both from Santa Barbara County, for AWOL from the Los Priestos Boy’s Camp.
Both minors are alleged gang members. They were taken to the Santa Maria
Juvenile Hall after police located them.
Peeping Tom

Mission Dr., Solvang
A 41-year-old female from Hemmingway Court, Calif.
reported that an unknown suspect with wooly hair wearing a dark brown t-shirt
with writing on the back, blue jeans and white sneakers was peeping over a
stall in a women’s public bathroom. The suspect reportedly hid inside a stall,
climbed the toilette seat and looked over the divider at the victim in the
adjoining stall. The victim’s spouse had witnessed the male suspect exiting the
women’s bathroom and crossing the street toward Copenhagen Liquor to enter a
white Chevrolet 1500 short-bed truck. The suspect is described as being in his
early 20’s, 5-feet 9-inches tall, 145-155 lbs with brown wooly short hair and
brown eyes. A Be-On-The-Lookout broadcast was issued with the suspect’s
description. Police were advised that the Pismo Police Department had a similar
incident occur at a public bathroom.

A 29-year-old male, a 32-year-old female from Santa Barbara, Calif. and a 30-year-old female from Goleta, Calif. were arrested for an array of violations. The
30-year-old female suspect from Goleta was arrested for allegedly being in possession of methamphetamine, prescription drugs and marijuana. The
29-year-old male suspect from Santa Barbara was arrested after police contacted his parole
officer who said he had not shown up for his drug test a few days prior. The
32-year-old female was arrested for outstanding warrants. All three suspects
were taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail after police observed them in the
vicinity of the Casino.

400th Block on First
Street, Solvang
A 69-year-old female from Encino, Calif. reported that an unknown suspect(s) destroyed
custom built engraved wood benches valued at $700 located on the Shelbi Ranch Business property. No arrests were made. The case was suspended
pending leads.

Copenhagen Drive, Solvang (Pete’s T’s)
A 41-year-old male from Solvang, Calif. reported that an 83-year-old female from Arieta, Calif. stole a $3.49 clog-shoe magnet from the store.
After he noticed a blank space on his magnet display, the victim reviewed his
video surveillance tapes and discovered that the elderly woman removed the
magnet. He later located the woman in front of his business and asked her if
she had taken the magnet from the store. She replied, “Oh, maybe I put it in my
pocket.” She gave back the stolen magnet and said, “I meant to pay for
it.” The store owner then placed the
woman under citizen’s arrest for stealing the magnet. The elderly woman was
taken to the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department and was issued a notice to
appear in court and then released.

Harassing Phone Calls
1500th Block of Oak
Street, Solvang
A 25-year-old female from Solvang, Calif. reported that an unknown male caller had contacted
her numerous times. After the victim reportedly told the suspect that he had
the wrong number, he attempted to obtain her name and address. When she refused
he allegedly called approximately 20 more times. The caller’s phone number was
identified. The victim later received a text message saying, “I see you!!!”
Police contacted the male suspect but he denied making any phone calls and
began laughing claiming he thought his girlfriend was “messing with him.” The
female victim reported being afraid for her life since she recently moved to
Solvang and hadn’t made any friends yet. No arrests were made and the case was
recommended for a detective follow-up.

Petty Theft

Avenue, Los Olivos
A 37-year-old male from Santa Ynez, Calif. reported that an unknown
suspect(s) stole property valued at $108 from his vehicle. The victim did not
report seeing anybody suspicious at the scene. The report was taken and the
case was suspended pending leads.
