Citation

Highway 101 South Bound near Jonata Park Road

A 24-year-old male from Oxnard was cited for allegedly displaying false registration tabs on his white Honda Civic. The driver had a passenger in the car and both men allegedly presented the officer with false Social Security cards. The Honda was impounded for 30 days and the false identification cards were confiscated. The men were released.

 

Battery

1656 Fir Ave., Solvang (La Morena Market)

A 31-year-old male from Solvang reported that a 36-year-old male, also from Solvang, punched him in the face and knocked out four of his teeth for no apparent reason. The victim reported knowing the suspect but said they had not had problems in the past. The victim was treated at the Santa Ynez Valley Hospital. The suspect remains at large.

Warrant Arrest

2800th  block of East Highway 246, Santa Ynez

A 22-year-old male from Buellton was taken into custody for having an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The arrest was the result of a field contact. He was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail.

 

Arrest

2301 Highway 154, Santa Barbara (Cachuma Lake County Park)

A 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old male, both from Anaheim, Calif. were arrested for vandalism after police allegedly caught them tagging “WCM” on bathroom stalls at the lake. They claimed that “WCM” stood for “West Coast Mexicans.” The 17-year-old had a knife in his possession and was on probation for attempted auto burglary. The 16-year-old was also on probation for a previous vandalism charge. Both were taken to the Santa Maria Juvenile Hall.

Citation

Highway 246 West Bound at Refugio Road

A 46-year-old male from Santa Barbara was issued a citation for allegedly driving with a suspended license, after police pulled him over for having a cracked windshield and front license plate secured by only one bolt. The man’s vehicle was impounded and he was released.

 

Vandalism

1440 Mission Drive, Solvang (Best Western Kronborg Inn)

A 42-year-old male from Solvang reported that unknown suspect(s) used a hacksaw to cut a main water line to the hotel causing over $400 worth of damage. The incident was reported after guest of the hotel complained that the water had been shut off. The hotel manager thought that the vandalism could have been caused by a disgruntled hotel guest or ex-employee. A report was taken and the case was suspended pending leads.

 

Citizen’s Arrest

3400 East Highway 246, Santa Ynez, (Chumash Casino)

A 31-year-old male from Oxnard was placed under citizen’s arrest by casino staff after allegedly trespassing on casino property. The man had reportedly been previously banned from the casino. He was taken to the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department, charged with trespassing and then released.

435 Alisal Road, Solvang (Bender’s Bar)

A 42-year-old female from Santa Ynez was arrested for alleged public intoxication after she reportedly fell down and was staggering at the bar. Police felt she could not take care of herself and she was transported to the Santa Ynez Hospital for treatment and then booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail for public intoxication. The woman claimed to be depressed because she had broken up with her boyfriend.

 

Warrant Arrest

Alamo Pintado road, Los Olivos

A 19-year-old male from Gaviota was taken into custody for having an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Police discovered the man’s outstanding warrant as the result of a routine traffic stop. He was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail.

A 22-year-old male from Santa Maria was taken into custody for having an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The arrest was the result of a field contact. The man was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail.

 

Indecent Exposure

Jonata Park Road and Avenue of the Flags, Buellton

A 62-year-old female from Buellton reported that an unknown suspect was touching himself inappropriately while in his truck. The victim was walking her dog at the time of the alleged violation. The suspects’ vehicle is described as an ’80s-’90s Dodge Van. A report was taken and the case was suspended pending leads.

Grand Theft

1683 Copenhagen, Solvang (The Royal Copenhagen Shop)

A 58-year-old male from Solvang reported that unknown suspect(s) stole a gold wrist watch from an unsecured glass display case in the store. The man contacted all other employees that worked for the shop but they could not tell him the whereabouts of the watch. The watch was valued at $6,995. A report was taken and the case was suspended pending leads.
