Aebelskivers, Danish Dancers & All The Works
Solvang’s annual
celebration of its Danish heritage is set to kick off Sept. 22 – 23. This year’s
theme “Solvang: Can You Remember When,” is taking it back to the good old days.
“I am absolutely excited
about the coming Danish Days,” said Rodney A. Nielsen. “We’re in full swing
here. I am excited to carry on our Danish tradition and I look forward to the
celebration.”
This year they are going
to have more artisans coming along with the regular festivities, such as the
Torchlight Parade and Danish Breakfasts, which will be served all three days.
“I will be welcoming and
helping out in the festivities and then I will be going over to the Elverhoj
Museum, where I will be turning Aebleskivers,” said Kristine Hanberg, the 2007
Danish Day’s Maid.
The celebration will
feature activities for all ages, including a chainsaw carver, Danish Dancers
and a concert in the park by Jonathan Wild.
