A 33-year-old
male from Carpinteria was arrested for alleged public intoxication after casino
security observed him staggering. The security guards escorted the man out of
the casino. He was taken to the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department.

1600 block of Juniper Ave., Solvang
A 49-year-old
woman was arrested for allegedly being under the influence of a controlled
substance and violating the terms of her probation. The arrest occurred after
police received a report that the woman was publicly intoxicated and was being
“disruptive.” The woman was taken to the Santa Maria Jail.

Solvang
A 28-year-old
woman from Solvang was arrested for allegedly being under the influence of a
controlled substance after police pulled over her vehicle for having expired
registration tags. The officer claimed to know the woman from earlier incidents
and remembered that her license was suspended. Police also observed that the
woman seemed to have used a stimulant, because she had eyelid tremors and
constricted pupils. The woman tested positive for methamphetamine and cocaine.
She was taken to the Solvang station and later released to her father.

Street Leather)
A 25-year-old
female from Solvang reported that an unknown suspect(s) stole a men’s leather
wallet from the store. The wallet was valued at $135. Though the store does
have a surveillance camera, the employee was not able to find any potential
suspects on the video tape. A report was taken and the case was suspended
pending leads.

A 22-year-old
male from Santa Maria was arrested for allegedly being in possession of a
controlled substance in a public place after casino security detained the man.
When police arrived, they noticed that the man had a small plastic baggie
protruding out of his baseball cap. Police then removed the baggie and found
methamphetamine. The man was taken to the Santa Maria Jail.

A 46-year-old
female was placed under citizen’s arrest by casino security after allegedly
stealing a wallet from another casino patron. The wallet reportedly contained
$115 in cash. The money and wallet were later recovered from the suspect. She
was taken to the Sheriff’s Department.

A 26-year-old
male and a 23-year-old female, both from Lompoc, were arrested for allegedly
being under the influence of a controlled substance after police pulled them
over for driving over double yellow lines. Tests revealed that the man and
woman tested positive for methamphetamine, amphetamine and marijuana
metabolites. Both the man and woman were released from the Santa Ynez Hospital.

male from Santa Ynez was arrested for allegedly driving while under the
influence of alcohol after police observed the vehicle swerving. The man
reportedly failed the sobriety tests. He was taken to the Santa Barbara County
Jail.

A 21-year-old
male from Lompoc was arrested for having misdemeanor warrants for his arrest.
The officer discovered the warrants after pulling over the man’s vehicle for
displaying faulty registration tags. He was taken to the Santa Barbara County
Jail.

A 52-year-old
male from Solvang was arrested for allegedly driving while under the influence
of alcohol after police stopped the man’s vehicle for failing to stop at a stop
sign. Police ascertained that the man’s alcohol level was greater than .08
percent. He was taken to the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department and later
released.

Ynez
A 26-year-old
male from Burbank was issued a citation for allegedly having an open container
of alcohol in public, after police observed him put down the can of beer, which
was one-third full. He was released from the scene.

A 39-year-old
female from Solvang reported finding a blue checkbook containing 14 checks.
Police attempted to contact the person whose name was on the checks, but were
unsuccessful. An incident report was written.
Juvenile Problems
3800 block of Woodstock Road, Santa
Ynez
A 59-year-old
man from Santa Ynez reported that his son and his son’s friends had stolen
Oxycontin pills from him. The man claimed to discover the missing pills as he
was packing for a trip. He then confronted his son and claimed that his son
admitted to taking the pills. Police later received a report from another minor
that the man’s son had been distributing the pills. Police left the father a
message, informing him of the new information. An incident report was taken.

A 18-year-old
male from Santa Ynez was arrested for allegedly providing officers with false
identification after police pulled over the man’s vehicle because it did not
have a front license plate. The man was released.

3886 East Highway 246, Santa Ynez (El
Rancho Market)
A 14-year-old
male from Buellton was issued a citation for allegedly stealing a soda from the
grocery store. He was reportedly confronted by store personnel after exiting
the store without paying for the soda. The minor claimed that he had originally
asked a friend for a dollar to buy the soda, but after receiving it, he claimed
that another person asked for the dollar and he gave it to the person. The case
was submitted to Juvenile Probation.

A 22-year-old
male from Solvang reported that his wallet was stolen. He claimed he remembered
placing the wallet on the passenger seat of his vehicle, which was parked in
his driveway, but when he returned his wallet was missing. It contained a
credit and debit cards and $700. A report was taken and the case was suspended
pending leads.

Police
received a report that an unknown suspect(s) stole $500 from an unattended
purse. A report was taken that the case was suspended pending leads.
Vandalism
1600 block of Eucalyptus Drive,
Solvang
A 27-year-old
female from Solvang reported that a 34-year-old female and a minor had
vandalized her apartment. She claimed that the suspects had punched a hole in
her kitchen pantry door and damaged a painting with a knife. She estimated the
total damages to be over $800. An incident report was taken and the case was
submitted to the District Attorney’s Office for a complaint review.
