A ongoing investigation into a civil dispute on Via Dinero Road in Solvang was reported. A father and son recently purchased a metal plating business in Sunland, California together and embezzlement has been alleged.

In Santa Ynez, an elderly woman reported that her keys had been stolen, but officers were able to help her locate them.
February 1, 2007
A male, 35, was arrested for public intoxication and suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance at Lake Cachuma on Highway 154.
At the Gaviota Rest Stop on Highway 101, property was found: a metal air soft gun modeled after a Beretta with a detachable magazine powered by CO2 and two small plastic medical syringes with orange caps were found in a trash can near the men’s room; a blue, hooded sweatshirt and pair of blue jeans were found near picnic tables at the north end of the rest stop. About 20 minutes before the items were found, a car was noticed at the rest stop containing a handcuffed and chained prisoner being transported by two men in blue suits. There is no evidence that the two occurrences are related.
Vandalism was reported on Copenhagen Drive in Solvang.

A juvenile was stopped while driving a car belonging to a passenger, female, 36, from Valero Street in Santa Barbara, and was charged with driving on a suspended license, speeding and no proof of insurance in the1600 block of Mission Street in Solvang.
Two Paso Robles men, one 28 and the other 36, were charged with possession of illegal prescription medication at the Chumash Casino.

A Santa Ynez taxi service had a drunken brawl between three customers in one of their taxis as it drove away from the Maverick Saloon. It resulted in one of them being injured.
On Cerrito St in Santa Ynez, a 28- year-old male gardener from Oakley Ave in Santa Maria was arrested for driving without a license. The car belonged to his employer, a 27-year-old man frotm Montebello St in Santa Ynez.

A 29-year-old man from Sixth St. in Lompoc and 23-year-old man from South I St. in Lompoc attempted to cash $400-$500 worth of fictitious travelers checks at the Chumash Casino after failing to cash them at a grocery store in Lompoc.
On Edison and Hwy 154 a Santa Maria female, 42, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and for being under the influence of a controlled substance and being and unlicensed driver. Meth paraphanalia and residue were found. Her male passenger, 40, refused to be examined for drugs and was booked.
A 45-year-old male lost control at the stop sign on Fredensborg Canyon Rd. at Viborg Rd, He skidded across the road, up and down the hillside, steered back onto Viborg and then to Fredensborg Canyon Rd., where he came to a stop. He was arrested for DUI.
A Lompoc man, 26, was arrested for public intoxication at the Chumash Casino for refusing to leave the casino and wanting to fight.
Two intoxicated individuals were reported at the Chumash Casino, one of whom was from Carpentaria.
Two unknown suspects stole approximately 48 necklaces worth $1,056 from Edelweiss on Copenhagen Dr. in Solvang.

A man, 66, used his mother’s handicapped sign to park in a handicapped spot at the Chumash Casino and was cited.
A male, 37, was arrested for driving under the influence at the Chumash Casino, for driving on a suspended license for an earlier DUI, and lying about his identity to a peace officer. The suspect lives on Pine Street in Lompoc.

In the Chumash Casino parking structure several Ventura residents were placed under citizen’s arrest and police called for being under the influence of a controlled substance. They also had 2 credit cards that did not belong to them and 2 knives, a screwdriver and single black glove.
In December, on either the first or second of the month, an entire Xray and digital imaging equipment was stolen from an equine clinic on Santa Barbara Avenue in Los Olivos. The value of the Grand Theft is approximately $101,000.

On Foxen Canyon in Los Olivos, a son found 4 boxes of ammunition in his deceased father’s property. He turned it into the Sheriff ’s Department and requested that it be booked for destruction.
A 46 year old, female, Buellton resident was arrested for outstanding warrants.

Pamela’s Country Cupboard on Mission Drive in Solvang reported the theft of $352.68 in cash.

A female Valley resident reported that her locked car was broken into and approximately $175 worth of items were stolen.

A male, aged 30, was stopped in Solvang at 5th Street for a possible DUI while driving with a child in the vehicle. He passed the field sobriety test but was cited for an obstructed windshield, driving on a suspended license and no proof of insurance.
On San Gillian Road in Gaviota, a male, 18, reported that his house was unlawfully entered while he was sleeping and a laptop stolen. His wallet with $971 and a speaker system were stolen from his pickup truck parked outside.
A female, 25, reported that her digital camera was stolen or missing from the pocket of her jacket which was on a wine tasting tour bus that was at Firestone Winery on Zaca Station Rd.

A male, 45 years old, was pulled over on 246 near the Chumash Casino. He had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for failure to pay a fine. He was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign and displaying false tags. February 13, 2007
