1400 block of Fjord Drive, Solvang

A 67-year-old male reported that unknown suspect(s) entered his property and stole railroad ties and a wrench. He estimated the loss at approximately $900. Further investigation into the case is suspended, pending leads.

2200 block of Alamo Pintado Road,

Solvang

 A 75–year-old resident reported six oil paintings were damaged while he was away. He said he found several deep scratch marks that appeared to have been made by a sharp-edged object. Deputies asked the man to call with an estimated cost of the damage. Further investigation into the case is suspended, pending leads.

Grand Theft

2975 E. Highway 246, Santa Ynez

A male student at Santa Ynez Valley Union High School reported $700 worth of property and cash missing from his unattended backpack and locker after he returned from gym class. In addition to the money, the unknown suspect or suspects stole a cell phone, headphones and a watch, the victim told sheriff’s deputies. Further investigation into the case is suspended, pending leads.

Burglary

900 North Refugio Road, Santa Ynez

A female employee arriving at the Santa Ynez Valley YMCA found the front door unlocked and the alarm system turned off. She subsequently discovered the keys to the cash drawer were missing as was some money. New security measures will be implemented while further investigation into the case is suspended, pending leads.

Arrest

1200 block of Cuesta Street, Santa Ynez

Two people were detained by sheriff’s deputies after their vehicle was stopped for a defective left rear taillight. The 40-year-old male driver told the officer he did not have a valid license and was on probation. He was also found to have two outstanding felony warrants. A female passenger did produce a driver’s license but said she, too, was on probation. The officer requested backup and the male suspect was taken into custody and the female suspect was taken to Santa Ynez Cottage emergency room for urine sample which tested positive for methamphetamine, amphetamine, and THC metabolites. She was cited and released.

3568 Sagunto Street, Santa Ynez

(Brent and Jeff’s Flooring)

A man arriving to open Brent and Jeff’s Flooring noticed two of the east-facing windows were defaced with graffiti in black with the lettering: “CTS CREW” or “CTV CREW”. Damage was estimated at less than $400. Further investigation into the case is suspended, pending leads.

 

Warrant Arrest

1600 block of Juniper, Solvang

A 46-year-old male was arrested as a result of a field contact after it was ascertained that the suspect had outstanding warrant(s) for his arrest. Deputies transported him to Santa Barbara County Jail where he was booked.

1400 block of Aarhus Drive, Solvang

A 69-year-old female found the back panel of her mailbox apparently forced open and reported she believed someone tried to steal the mail. She said the box was undamaged the day before. Further investigation into the case is suspended, pending leads.

Warrant Arrest

1100 block of Lincoln Lane, Santa Ynez

A 46-year-old-male was taken into custody by sheriff’s deputies for outstanding warrants after they made contact with him in a field. The man was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail where he was released after posting bail.

3570 Sagunto Street, Santa Ynez

The acronyms “SS” and “SSX3 SYV” were found spray painted in black on the outside of the south-facing wall of the Santa Cota Market and the north-facing garbage partition. Damage was estimated at less then $400. Further investigation into the case is suspended, pending leads.

 

Vandalism

3595 Sagunto Street, Santa Ynez

While on patrol, an officer noticed the tire storage at John’s Chevron had been vandalized with graffiti marking the container with the numbers “805” and the letters “BK,SS” and “X3” in black spray paint. Deputies reported the vandalism occurred sometime between 7 pm and just over an hour later. Further investigation into the case is suspended, pending leads.

Unauthorized use of an access card

3545 East Highway 246, Santa Ynez (Corner Station)

A 53-year-old female reported that six unauthorized transactions were made with her bank debit card. The first four transactions provided the unknown suspect(s) with more than $300 in goods and services. The last two transactions were declined. Deputies requested detectives follow up.
