Los Olivos Gallery organization (LOGO) hosted the 20th annual Holiday Art Show, Nov

Los Olivos Gallery organization (LOGO) hosted the 20th annual Holiday Art Show, Nov. 24 and 25. Participating galleries offered the consummate mix of wine, hors d’oeuvres and art, with many of their featured artists on hand to mingle with patrons.

Judith Hale, owner of the Judith Hale Gallery on Grand Ave in Los Olivos, spearheaded LOGO and subsequently started the Holiday Art Show tradition in 1987.

“Back in the early days, a group of us put together ideas for annual events, and the Holiday Art Show was one of several we now do every year,” Hale explained.

Behind her gallery, in the garden, featured artists set up easels, sketch pads and canvases and settled in for two days of painting and art demonstrations. Tom Dewalt dabbed oil on a small canvas and leisurely painted a landscape while chatting with admirers.

“Painting is such a solitary endeavor; it’s good to get outside, in the sun, and talk with people on a day like today,” Dewalt said.

After 20 years, the Holiday Art Show has become an anticipated event, and Hale commented that she looked forward to seeing many familiar faces from all corners of the Golden State.
