Catherine
Henry says that she loves challenges and that coaching has always been an
exciting challenge. This year she is coaching girls
basketball at Santa Ynez Valley Union High School and
is looking forward to a great year with the varsity team.
“It
is a young team, but they have good experience and great senior leadership and
we are looking forward to the playoffs this season,” she insisted. “The team
has a lot of energy and we are developing their skills and keeping positive.
They are a great group.”
Henry,
a resident of Solvang, has played basketball since she was 11. She and her twin
sister, Sue-Anne, the youngest of seven children, grew up in Toronto, Canada,
playing basketball through high school and college.
Henry has spent years coaching both
boys and girls, including four years at Dunn School, and previously coached the
freshman team at SYVUHS six years
