alcohol after police pulled him over for a broken taillight. Police observed
that the man strongly smelled of alcohol and that his speech was slurred. The
man refused to perform any of the DUI tests. He was taken to the Santa Barbara
County Jail and his car was impounded.

staff reported that a 22-year-old male from Santa Maria, who previously had
been employed by the casino, had embezzled about $57,000 over 16 months. The
man had allegedly been transferring money from the casino’s Rabobank
account into an account at Washington Mutual. Casino staff estimated that the
man had completed 108 fraudulent transactions ranging from $700 to $1,000. A
report was taken and a detective follow-up was recommended.
