The first phase of 38 new homes is almost sold out at Skytt Mesa, the new subdivision being developed by Curtis
Homes at the northwest end of Solvang. The project, 169 new homes slated to be
completed in four phases in less than 10 years, includes six models, which
should be ready for viewing in February, 2008.
Allan Jones, Skytt Mesa sales
agent, said almost all the lots in the first phase have been purchased, and
buyers have been able to select their preference from nine high-end options and
a myriad of variations.
Besides large lots and professional landscaping,
residents have easy access to Hans Christian Andersen Park, which borders the
neighborhood on the east. Homes range between 1940 to 3084 square feet and
include four or five bedrooms and three baths. Most are one level with a
three-car garage. Prices range between $795,000 and $1.1 million.
Developers, based in Buellton, expect to begin phase two
in February, when the models are finished. Forty-seven homes will be
constructed in phase two, which extends from Olesen Road back to Chalk Hill
Road. Roads to be finished in phase two include Oak Ridge Road, Hans
Park Trail, Valley Oak Road, Solvang Mesa Drive, and Pistache
Avenue.
Phase three and phase four include 38 homes and 46 homes,
respectively. “Our buyers’ ages range from those with families to some who are
retired,” Jones said. “They are in the market for a high-end home and something
new and we can deliver on both points.”
