More than 5,000 pounds of used textbooks have been shipped to the Philippines, thanks to a textbook drive supported by sophomores at Dunn School. Sponsored by Rick Zander and the Santa Ynez Rotary Club, the drive was part of an international effort to overcome shortages of science equipment and books in needy communities in the Philippines. In little more than eight weeks the Dunn students gathered boxes of books, which were shipped by the Rotary Club to the Indigenous Development Coordinator’s Foundation, founded by Zander and Rotarians to help with charity projects in the Philippines.
