Santa Ynez

A 26-year-old male from Santa Ynez was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol after police pulled him over for speeding, weaving in and out of lanes and braking for no apparent reason. The man failed a series of sobriety tests. He was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail and his car was impounded.

Mission Dr. and Park Street, Solvang

A 21-year-old male from Solvang was cited for drinking in public after police observed that the man had thrown a bottle cap in the direction of the patrol car. When confronted, the officer found two opened cans of Budweiser beer.

Fifth St. and Ash Lane, Solvang

A 20-year-old male from Solvang was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled him over for driving without his headlights on. Police found two empty cans of beer under the passenger-side seat. He was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail.

Counterfeit traveler’s check

3400 E. Hwy. 246, Santa Ynez

(Chumash Casino)

A casino employee reported that a 37-year-old female from Grover Beach presented a counterfeit traveler’s check in the amount of $500 to a casino cashier. When the cashier informed the woman that she could not cash the check, the woman fled the casino with two men in a white Cadillac before security could apprehend her.

Eastbound Mission Dr., Solvang

A 51-year-old female from Buellton was cited for speeding and driving without a valid California driver’s license after police observed her driving 45mph in a 25mph zone. The woman did present a New Mexico driver’s license and a California identification card. Her vehicle was impounded and she was released.

Santa Barbara

A 27-year-old man from Lompoc was cited for driving without a valid California driver’s license, no auto insurance and expired registration after police pulled him over for not stopping at a yield sign. His car was impounded and he was released.

3400 E. Hwy. 246, Santa Ynez,

(Chumash Casino)

A 36-year-old male from Santa Barbara was arrested for being under the influence of methamphetamine and amphetamine after police responded to a trespassing report from casino staff. When police confronted the man, they observed that the man was shaking uncontrollably and that he was sweating heavily. He was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail.

 

Domestic disturbance

1200 block of Camino San Carlos,

Buellton

Police responded to a report of an intoxicated person on the roof of a residence. An incident report was taken; no arrests were made.

Burglary

1400 block Mission Dr., Solvang

A 48-year-old male from San Francisco reported that their rented Hertz truck had been broken into by an unknown suspects(s), who shattered the passenger’s side window and attempted to steal the navigation system inside the truck. The truck and the navigation system were dusted for fingerprints, but none were retrieved. A report was taken and the case was suspended pending leads.

A 20-year-old male from Los Angeles was cited for being a minor in possession of alcohol. He was cited and released.
