The
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department Rural Crime Unit documented a list of
rural crime incidents that occurred throughout the county between October and

Maria
10-19
Petty
theft of pallets from Betteravia Road and Black Road

Unknown
suspects forced entry into a barn on Ray Road. Thieves made off with power and
hand tools.
11-05
Unknown
suspects broke into a storage container about 1.5 miles south of Clark Avenue
and east of Hwy 101 and stole a welder, chain saws, and other hand tools.
11-08
A
new Kubota M9000 tractor was stolen from Black and Mahoney Roads. The tractor
was parked in a locked yard. The lock was cut. Later that day, a fertilizer
representative found the tractor in a field off Prell
Road.
12-03
A
worker showed up for work at night and found that the fence around the yard was
knocked down. He then found one of their
tractors in a nearby field, still running.
Further investigation revealed that a new vehicle was stolen from the
yard. The vehicle was later recovered
off Bull Canyon Road, concealed behind some dense brush.
Eight people were cited for trespassing.
Lompoc

Approximately $750 worth
of artichokes was stolen from a field at Union Sugar and Central Avenue for the
second time.
Santa
Ynez
10-28
There were several copper wire thefts earlier in the
month. On this date, Santa Ynez deputies
served a search warrant in the City of Buellton. They found some of the stolen copper, and Alix Rickman was arrested for possession of stolen
property. A second subject in the house,
Glenn Goff, was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled
substance.
Carpinteria

Suspects
were arrested for theft at a nursery in the 5700 block of Foothill Road.
