A 23-year-old male from Lompoc was cited for driving without a license and his vehicle was impounded after police pulled him over for weaving in and out of lanes. He was released from the scene.

Arrest

Edison Street and Manzana Road, Santa Ynez

A 22-year-old male from Solvang was arrested for driving without a license after police pulled him over for a missing license plates. When police pulled the man over, they discovered that the man also had an immigration hold and that U.S. Customs recommended that the man be placed under arrest and that his vehicle be impounded. He was taken to the Santa Maria Jail.

 

Arrest

3400 East Highway 246, Santa Ynez (Chumash Casino)

A 49-year-old male from Santa Maria was arrested for being in possession of methamphetamine after security apprehended him for trespassing, since he had been previously banned. Security also observed that the man dropped an object in a planter, which turned out to be methamphetamine. The man admitted to being “an addict,” but denied being in possession of the methamphetamine that was dropped into the planter.  He was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail.

1645 Mission Drive, Solvang (Copenhagen Liquor)

A 46-year-old male from Solvang was arrested for being drunk in public after police responded to a call that a known public intoxication offender was hanging around Copenhagen Liquor. The man has been arrested numerous times for public intoxication and according to police the arrests have not deterred him from going out in public intoxicated. He was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail.

Vandalism

2500 block of East Highway 246, Solvang

A 55-year-old female from Solvang reported that an unknown suspect(s) broke her driver’s side window and dented the left side of her vehicle. The damage is estimated to cost more than $400. The case was submitted for a detective follow-up.

Harassing phone calls

 

3400 East Highway 246, Santa Ynez (Chumash Casino)

A 28-year-old female from Santa Maria reported that a 32-year-old male form Bakersfield called her repeatedly at her home and her job and harassed her. The case was submitted to the District Attorney for a complaint review and it was also forwarded to the Bakersfield Police Department.

Vandalism

800 block of Alamo Pintado Road, Solvang

An 18-year-old male from Solvang reported that an unknown suspect(s) threw a rock through the rear right side window of her vehicle. The damage is estimated to be more than $400. The victim said he parked his car in the driveway of his residence and around 5 p.m. he heard a “bang” but did not investigate. Early the next morning he discovered his window had been broken. The case was submitted for a detective follow-up.

Check Forgery

1714 Mission Drive, Solvang. (Union Bank of California)

A 40-year-old female reported that a 23-year-old male from Paso Robles opened a new account at the bank and deposited a check in the amount of  $5, 221.12. He then inquired about cashing the check or receiving some of the funds before the check cleared. He was advised that his check would have to clear before he would be allowed to take money from his account. He returned to the bank the same day and requested to withdraw $500. The bank supervisor allowed him to withdraw the money, but on further inspection of the check, the supervisor determined that the check looked altered and demanded that the man, who already was in the parking lot, return the $500 he had just withdrawn. A report was taken and sent to the District Attorney.

Check Forgery

610 Alamo Pintado Road, Solvang (Los Padres National Bank)

A 59-year-old female from Solvang reported that a 34-year-old male from Lompoc entered the bank and presented a business check made out to Allen Rappuhn for $450. The teller cashed the check thinking it was legitimate. On Dec. 19, two employees of the SBFD station 32 reported that $450 had been missing from the station fund account. The bank refunded the stolen money to the fire station account and the case was submitted for a detective follow-up.

 

 Petty Theft

1604 Copenhagen Drive, Solvang (As Seen on TV Store)

A 42-year-old female from Santa Maria reported that a female in her mid-twenties stole her purse containing some cash and a cell phone. The clerk at the store reviewed some surveillance tapes and was able to witness the theft occur. The case was suspended pending leads.
