Adult rec

If those New Year’s resolutions include getting and keeping fit, the Buellton and Solvang Parks and Recreation departments have a full schedule for adults. Also, adults who like day trips, musical events and visiting local sights, can sign up to participate in more than a dozen excursions planned through the end of April.

Beginning with volleyball, basketball and flag football, the programs start in January and continue through the year with other sports.

Four-by-four adult volleyball begins Jan. 15 and continues Tuesday evenings. Adult coed volleyball begins in March on weekday evenings at the high school.

Seven-by-seven adult flag football begins Jan. 19 and then every Saturday at the new Sunny Fields Park in Solvang.

Five-by-five adult basketball starts Feb. 17 at the Solvang School Pavilion and continues Sunday evenings. Interested individuals are encouraged to form a team and register with their local Parks and Recreation office.
