Pappas campaign funding up

Steve Pappas’s finances in his race for the 3rd District seat on the Santa Barbara Board of Supervisors are in robust condition, he reported this week.

He has taken in a total of $165,000 in the campaign so far, which he credits to an increase in his media exposure since he began buying more advertising.

He began raising money for his campaign last December, and said he expects continued growth in his fundraising.

Pappas is running for the supervisor’s seat being vacated by Brooks Firestone, who chose to retire.

Other candidates in the 3rd District race are Doreen Farr, Victoria Pointer, David Bearman and Dave Smyser.

Pappas was elected to the Los Olivos School District Board of Trustees in 2004 and was named President of the panel in 2007.
