A
40-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested for DUI on Highway 154 near Edison
Street at 7:20 p.m. The driver appeared disheveled and had slurred speech and
red watery eyes. Admitting to
having a suspended driver’s license the suspect was booked after refusing to
voluntarily submit a blood sample for testing. The suspect is currently on
parole for prior drug offenses. His car was impounded.

38-year-old Solvang woman reported that her car was broken into at the parking
lot of the Santa Ynez Valley School while she watched her son play baseball at
about 10:30 a.m. A Louis Vuitton purse, miscellaneous paperwork, and magazines
of no value were taken. A report was taken by the sheriff’s office.

53-year-old Camarillo man reported that two tool bags with approximately $700
worth of tools were stolen from his property in the 1500 block of Refugio Rd.
in Santa Ynez. As the value of the tools was over $400, the crime was reported
as a grand theft. Although no
suspects were seen, the victim believed he was being watched, as the tools were
stolen shortly after they were left by the side of the road where he was
working.

25-year-old man with no known address, a 26-year-old Guadalupe woman, and a
20-year-old Guadalupe woman were arrested after witnesses reported that a
64-year-old Santa Ynez woman walking along the road was robbed of her purse in
the 3100 block of Highway 246 in Santa Ynez at about 12:30 p.m. The suspects entered a car after the
robbery and fled west on Highway 246, then north on Alamo Pintado Road. A witness followed the suspect vehicle
and called the sheriff’s department. The suspects were pulled over by sheriff’s
deputies and a Highway Patrol officer on Highway 154 near Zaca Station Rd. After being pulled from the car at gunpoint,
the suspects were searched and one was found to be in possession of a small
amount of a white powder in a plastic bag that was suspected to be
methamphetamine. During
questioning the male suspect admitted to participating in the robbery. All
three suspects are being charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit
robbery. Other charges may be filed pending investigation.
