SYV Cottage Hospital receives award
Santa
Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital has received one of four awards presented by VHA
West Coast, Inc., for outstanding patient satisfaction. Two other awards went
to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital.
The
Solvang facility, honored Jan. 4, received a “top performer” certificate that
listed it in the top one percent among regional hospitals for patient
satisfaction.
The
recognition comes from a national health-care alliance of more than 1,400
hospitals. The West Coast division covers six states and includes 126
hospitals. California has 80 hospitals in the alliance.
Based
in Irving, Tex., VHA, Inc., is a for-profit
cooperative that serves more than 21,000 non-acute care facilities nationwide
as well as the hospitals.
The
20-bed Solvang hospital is part of the Cottage Health System, a non-profit
organization that includes Cottage Children’s Hospital, Santa Barbara Cottage
Hospital and Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital.
Santa
Barbara Cottage Hospital ranks in the top 20 percent and Goleta in the top 25
percent among peer hospitals for improving patient satisfaction scores during
the past year.
