Auto Burglary

400 block of Alisal Rd., Solvang

A 28-year-old woman from Cachuma Village reported that an unknown suspect(s) shattered the passenger side front window and stole her purse from the front seat. Police found pieces of a spark plug on the ground near the vehicle. The purse contained the woman’s credit and ATM cards and an American Express gift card worth $100.

Harassing phone calls

1000 block of East Hwy. 246,

Santa Ynez

Police received a report that a woman from Santa Ynez was receiving harassing phone calls from an unknown suspect. The suspect left a message on the woman’s answering machine. The victim said she did not recognize the voice of the caller. A report was taken and the case was suspended pending leads.

Vandalism

3400 East Hwy. 246, Santa Ynez

(Chumash Casino)

A man reported that an unknown suspect(s) vandalized a wall in a women’s restroom at the casino. The words “Es Cancino a Bonbale Box” where written in red lipstick on the wall. 

 

Burglary

1400 block of Aalborg Way, Solvang

A 19-year-old man from Solvang reported that an unknown male suspect entered his residence through an unlocked window and stole CDs and DVDs. The victim claimed he saw a white man, wearing a white snowboard jacket and dark pants, holding several CDs and running down a hill near his residence. The man said after he returned home he could tell someone had gone through his belongings. The case was suspended pending leads.

Petty Theft

2975 East Hwy 246, Santa Ynez

(SYVUHS)

A 46-year-old male employee of the Santa Ynez Valley Union High School placed a 34-year-old man from Oxnard under arrest for petty theft after he allegedly siphoned gasoline from a school vehicle. Police found a gray hose, which they believed was used to siphon gasoline, in the back of the man’s vehicle. He was taken to the Solvang Sheriff’s Station and where he received a citation.
