Jack-in-the-Box proposal discussed
Representatives
of Curt Pringle & Associates presented project details for a proposed
Jack-in-the-Box restaurant to members of the Buellton City Planning Commission
during its Jan. 17 meeting.
Curt
Pringle Vice President Peter Whittingham,
representing Steve Lykken, owner of Steve’s Wheel
& Tire and property owner of the proposed project, gave the presentation.
Commissioners also heard details from Planning Director Marc Bierdzinski. The project, to be at 250 E. Highway 246 in
Buellton, will be set back enough for a drive-through. Whittingham
said the current structure will be demolished and a new 2,454- square-foot
restaurant will be built.
The
staff still needs to determine traffic issues and entry details, Bierdzinski added. A traffic study will be conducted by
Associated Transportation Engineers. Still under review by staff, the project
needs a conditional use permit from the commission. The site is zoned General
Commercial.
Commissioner
Greg Scaduto said the trash bin at the front of the
building should be moved to the back. Commissioner Craig Adams commented on the
signage, which should be similar to Burger King’s signs, he said. The next
meeting will be Feb. 7 in City Council Chambers, 140 W. Highway 246, at 6 p.m.
