Police arrested a 23-year-old male from Lompoc for having an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The arrest was the result of a field contact. He was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail.

Police arrested a 47-year-old male from Van Nuys for having an outstanding warrant for his arrest after they pulled him over for a routine traffic stop. He was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail.

Santa Ynez (Chumash Casino)

Police arrested a 35-year-old male who was a transient for falsely presenting information to a peace officer and for being in possession of stolen checks and a stolen debit card. The suspect was arrested after police received reports from casino staff after he allegedly attempted to cash forged checks at the casino. He was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail.

Solvang

A 30-year-old male from Solvang was cited for driving without a valid California Driver’s License after police pulled him over for operating his vehicle with paper license plates.

Commercial burglary

3627 Sagunto St., Santa Ynez,

(Santa Ynez Inn)

A 58-year-old male from Solvang reported that an unknown suspect(s) broke a window and stole a computer from his trailer that was parked outside the Inn.

He said he noticed the door to the trailer was unlocked when he returned to his trailer.

He said nothing else was missing from the trailer. A report was taken and the case was recommended for a detective’s follow-up.

 

Vandalism

2500 block of East Hwy. 246,

Solvang

Police received reports that an unknown high-school-age suspect broke the front window and driver’s side window of a vehicle that was parked in a dirt turnout on the north side of East Highway 246. Police have not made any arrests. The estimated loss was $400.

200 block of Valhalla Dr.,

Solvang

A 62-year-old male from Santa Ynez was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol after police received reports that the suspect was driving erratically.

When police contacted him, they found he was intoxicated over the legal limit. He was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail.

 

Arrest

400 block of Alisal Rd., Solvang

A 19-year-old male from Santa Maria, a 20-year-old male from Solvang and a 19-year-old male from Carpinteria were arrested for vandalism after they allegedly caused damage to a vehicle owned by a 24-year-old male.

When police confronted the three suspects, officers found a rifle, shotgun rounds and a knife. All three were taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail.

(Chumash Casino)

A 41-year-old male from Oxnard was arrested for being in possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell after police received an anonymous tip that the suspect, a parolee, was dealing drugs at the casino.

He previously had been banned from the casino for drug activity. When police searched the suspect they found a plastic bag of methamphetamine and some marijuana. He was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail.

(Chumash Casino)

A 19-year-old male from Santa Barbara was arrested for grand theft after he allegedly stole expensive headphones and audio equipment from a showroom at the casino.

Casino security observed the suspect enter the showroom and exit with a bulky item under his sweater.

The audio accessories were estimated to be worth $600. He was taken to the Lompoc Jail.

 

Petty theft

1600 block of Copenhagen Dr.,

Solvang

A 72-year-old female reported that an unknown suspect(s) stole a purse from an unlocked office at a commercial gift shop. The purse and its contents were estimated to be worth $250.

A report was taken and the case was suspended pending leads.

A 22-year-old male from Lompoc was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance after police stopped the suspect for a routine traffic stop. The suspect was on probation and was also driving on a suspended license. His vehicle was towed and he was taken to the Solvang station.

Police received a report that someone found a child’s jogging stroller behind the Solvang Sheriff’s Station. The stroller is a blue Instep stroller. It was left unlocked.

A 46-year-old male from Santa Ynez was arrested for being drunk in public after police observed him staggering outside the Maverick Saloon. He was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail.
