• Deputies responded to a burglary in progress at PG&E on Easy Street. Copper wire was stolen. Deputies are following up on the leads.

 

Santa Maria

12-11

• A burglar cut two locked gates and then used a torch to cut the hasp off a storage container. The burglar stole hand tools and a vehicle.

 

12-13

• Equipment from the 1800 block of West Betteravia Road was stolen.

• Sixteen new rolls of irrigation drip tape were stolen from the area of Betteravia and Philbric Roads.

 

12-17

• Irrigation equipment from the 3200 block of West Main St., was stolen.

• Irrigation equipment from the 2200 block of North Blosser Road was stolen.

 

12-24 

• Unknown suspects cut a lock and broke into the maintenance yard at Green Valley Farms. A company truck, an acetylene torch, drill press, pressure washer, and numerous electric and hand tools were stolen.

• Irrigation equipment was stolen from the 1900 block of North Blosser Road.

• Car batteries, a radiator, and gasoline were stolen from the area of West Stowell and Rosemary Roads.

• Police received a call of a suspicious vehicle on West Stowell Road. The license plate was traced to a vehicle recently stolen in Santa Maria. When deputies arrived, the vehicle was gone but has since been recovered in Santa Maria.

 

Carpinteria

12-17 

• Avocados were stolen from the 2800 block of  Torito Road.

 

12-27 

• Timothy Perdue was arrested for theft of copper wire from a house under construction.  Follow-up revealed that Perdue had been to Santa Barbara Recycling almost every day for the last few months.

Perdue was also in possession of methamphetamine.

Police are sure that Perdue has stolen items from rural areas.
