Accident injures three workers
Three
workers were injured in an industrial accident Feb. 9 at 1171 Amour Ranch Road
in Santa Ynez, according to a report filed with the Santa Barbara County Fire
Department.
The
three men, one a Southern California Gas employee and two subcontractors,
were injured while using an A-frame lifting device, which fell on them.
They
were attempting to use the A-frame to move a 3,000-pound compressor when it
fell over on two of the men, but they were removed from beneath the machine
before fire officials arrived.
Two
of the victims suffered trauma injuries to the back, internal organs and
extremities, according to Officer Vince Agapito. The
third person suffered minor injuries.
The
victims were taken to Goleta Cottage Hospital’s trauma care center, Agapito said. Two ambulances and one fire engine responded
to the accident.
