Students to present variety Showcase

Dozens of local youth have been selected to perform at the 18th annual Arts Outreach Applause Showcase March 1, at 7 p.m. at the Santa Ynez Valley Union High School theater. The students were selected after auditions on Feb. 2 and finalists include talents in performing, literary and visual arts. Besides the students who will be performing at the Showcase, all the literary and visual arts finalists will receive awards during the program.

Finalists performing in the Showcase include dance students at Los Olivos Dance Gallery: Molly Callaghan, Mary Christensen, Jenna Donovan, Jessica Leyva, Kacie Nelson, Leah Parlato, Sabrina Salgado, Sarah Stucky, Alyssa Winckler, Tivoli Evans, Rebecca Brundidge, Katherine Christensen, Hayley Esdaile, Heather Voorhis, Kelly Loff, Abby Lucas, Molly Hersh, Natalee Shean, Kristen Lozario, and Alix Puchli.

Instrumental and music performances will be offered by Tina Jung and Daheen Maeng, both Dunn School, as well as jazz bands Bliss, Comedy, and Santa Ynez Valley Jazz Band.

Other musical selections will include Nick Donati, Gabrielle Huffman, Cavan O’Neill, Noah Weitz and Steven Weitz, all on the piano; and Katie Cromack, Olivia Huffman, Morgan Laughlin, Natalee Shean, Brooke and Barrett Redell, vocalists.
