22-year-old male from Santa Ynez was arrested for having an outstanding warrant
for his arrest. He went to the Solvang Police Station to ask about a notice he
received about having an outstanding warrant. He was cited and released.
Burglary
900 North Refugio Road,
Santa Ynez (YMCA)
Police
received a report that two vehicles parked in the YMCA parking lot had been
broken into. One of the victims’ passenger’s side windows had been smashed and
the unknown suspect(s) stole a cell phone, a pair of sunglasses and his gym bag
containing his wallet. The case was suspended pending leads.

A
16-year-old male teenager was arrested for being under the influence of Vicodin
after the SYVUHS contacted police. An athletic director said he believed the
teen was acting strangely and sent him to the administration office. The teen
then reportedly began to strip off his clothing in the administration office
and when an administrator asked him why he was stripping, the teen seemed
confused. The teen later admitted taking half a Vicodin pill, but said “he was
not a druggie or a pill popper.” The teen was taken home and the case was
submitted to Juvenile Probation.

A
27-year-old male from Oxnard was arrested for being under the influence of a
controlled substance after the casino reported him acting strangely. The man
refused to take a urine test. He was sent to the Santa Barbara County Jail.

A
25-year-old female from Santa Maria was cited for driving without a valid
California Driver’s License after police pulled her over for having a broken
taillight. Her car was impounded for 30 days.

An
employee of the Lady Bug Boutique reported that a 35-year-old female stole a
blouse from the store. The suspect reportedly told the employee that she had
been gambling at the casino and had lost all her money and was waiting for her
boyfriend to deposit money into her account. The employees said that she hadn’t
seen the woman take the blouse, but said that the blouse was missing after the
woman left the store. The case was suspended pending leads.

24-year-old male from Los Angeles was placed under citizen’s arrest for
stealing a pitcher of beer after he reportedly left the business with the owner’s
beer pitcher. The man was taken to the Solvang Sheriff’s Station, cited and
released.

68-year-old female was placed under citizen’s arrested after surveillance video
captured her slapping a 55-year-old female in the back of the head. The
assailant first denied hitting the victim. She was taken to the Solvang Sheriff’s
Station, cited and released.

32-year-old female from Oxnard was arrested for being under the influence of a
controlled substance after casino security reportedly found a methamphetamine
pipe in her purse. She failed sobriety tests and a urine sample taken at Santa
Ynez Cottage Hospital tested positive for methamphetamine. She was issued a
citation and released.

his car and stole a computer and camera. The passenger’s side window was
