Movies in the park

 

Bring your comfortable chairs, warm blankets, even your favorite treats and join us at Solvang Park near the gazebo on Friday, June 19 for our first feature of the summer.  The fun begins at 7:30pm with cartoons and the main feature will start at sundown.  Fresh popcorn and hot cocoa are offered at each show.  The summer movie schedule at Solvang Park is July 3, 17 & 31, August 14 & 28.  On June 26, July 24 and August 29 Movies in the Park will be presented at Oak Park in Buellton.  All movies are shown on Friday nights.  Our “fun for the family” films are rated G-PG13. “Kids Paint on Canvas” Wednesday and Friday mornings. Alissa Massey will teach the class.  Kids will love her bright spirit.  Class is for kids ages 7-11, but we can be flexible.  Room for only 5 kids. Call to reserve a spot. Fee: for 8 (2 hr 30 min.) classes, for the whole month of July, including snack break is $240 (+ materials $25-$35.)

 

Friday, July 3

Solvang’s next Movie in the Park is National Treasure, Solvang Park. Cartoons begin at 7:30 p.m. with the feature presentation starting at dark.  Hot chocolate and fresh popcorn is available.  Start off your Fourth of July weekend right with a fun and adventurous family film.

 

Saturday, July 4

Solvang Independence Day Parade & BBQ in Solvang Park, parade begins at 11 a.m. in downtown Solvang, at noon, after the parade, enjoy barbeque hot dogs and hamburgers with all the fixings at Solvang Park. For more info 686-9376 .

 

Solvang Independence Day Festival & Fireworks starting at 1 p.m., enjoy games, entertainment and food on the lawn of Old Mission Santa Ines. $5 for adults and children age 5 years and under free, fireworks display will start at appox. 9 p.m.

Los Olivos Wine Merchant & Cafe presents Evening with the Winemaker, Tercero Winery. 5-6 p.m., $15/person, $5 discount for wine club members, includes all wine tasting and hors d’oeuvres.

Friday, July 10

Cachuma Lake Nature Center presents Astronomy Night, a slide presentation on celestial highlights at 8 p.m. Telescopes will be available, afterward for viewing the moon and stars. Free with $8 per vehicle park admission. 688-4515.

 

Saturday, July 11

New Grown in the Santa Ynez Valley Farmer’s Market in downtown Los Olivos from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The farmers will have fresh picked healthful fruits and vegetables for sale. Farmer’s Market will help support local shops, and a small percentage of the produce sales will go to LOBO to help fund street cleaning and public restroom facilities.
